TRAVEL GRANTS PASS PROPOSAL

ABOUT US

At Sea Legs Media there are three characteristics that define our work. First, we aim to create content that will fully address the client’s marketing goals. With that in mind, at the onset, we work to clearly understand what the client hopes the visual content will achieve and exactly who their audience is.

Secondly, our goal is always to produce pieces that ring-true. It’s easy to over-produce a film or doctor-up a photo these days; to make people, places, and things look better than what they actually are. But we are convinced that what audiences really want is authenticity. Although we we will bring the industry’s best equipment to the shoot, we won’t be heavy handed. We will let authenticity do the selling.

Lastly, we push our projects to communicate stories that connect deeply. In a world with endless visual content at our fingertips, it’s the emotional connections to the stories we experience in that linger in our minds and nudge us toward action. This approach sets our work apart and guides through the entire creative process. We take the time needed during pre-production to identify the people who will best connect emotionally our audiences. We look for authenticity, and when we find it, we follow it. We pay attention to the natural environment that we are filming in, both the close up details and all the wider perspectives. Regardless of the length of the story, we toil in the editing stage to ensure it has meaningful depth and arc.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

We strive to affirm and celebrate all people, regardless of their age, gender identity, sexuality, race, religion or ability.

Through our experience we know that good storytelling has the ability to cultivate meaningful ideas and encourage new perspectives. As we have honed our filmmaking and photography skills we have also realized the importance of using our tools responsibly. For us, it always comes back to honest representation of diverse human stories that challenge audiences to maybe feel and think a little bit differently. Subtlety is the key. For Travel Grants Pass our task will be to accurately represent the variety of identities in the region. With intention and time for research and discovery those diverse stories can be found. As needed diverse talent can be sourced and included in shots, once again to accurately represent the variety of identities in the region.

From the first Oregon women in wine, to slam poetry about STEM on the streets of Raleigh, North Carolina - here are a just a few examples of our film work in the space:
